Kate offers private classes (including some donation-based sessions) for individuals, and facilitates peer mentoring groups for yoga teachers and teachers-in-training.
Mentoring for yoga teachers
Over the course of 13 years as a yoga teacher I have faced many challenges: how to earn a sustainable living, looking after myself as I faced considerable health issues, keeping my teaching fresh and creative, dealing with studio politics and interpersonal friction, and the yoga school I'd committed to be a part of falling apart! Many teachers face similar challenges, alongside the continuous one of keeping their own personal practice going while trying to earn a living and deal with family responsibilities. I provide mentoring for yoga teachers and teachers-in-training to help them develop the skills to become an even more successful yoga teacher! I am also a professional coach and facilitator (see www.katetaylorhewett.com), and these sessions bring my two work passions together.
Rather than focus 'how to teach', which is covered by teacher training programmes, mentoring is designed to help you find, deepen and embody your own authentic approach and voice as a teacher, as well as help provide a safe, compassionate space to share any questions or challenges you are facing, including dealing with the spiritual insights and experiences arise when we practice for a long time that can challenge the way we see ourselves and our lives.
This form of mentoring is open to anyone who teaches any form or style of yoga.
Please contact Kate to express your interest or ask any questions you may have.

She regularly visits London and offers private sessions in the West End. Please email bendykate [at] gmail [dot] com or call 07968 914846 for more information.
***DONATION-BASED SESSIONS***
From time to time Kate offers private 75 minute sessions on a donation basis. These are aimed at people who have, or wish to begin, a regular practice of yoga asana (postures), meditation and/or pranayama. The sessions can cover any aspect of the practice including therapeutic alignment, home practice sequence design, guidance in meditation or pranayama and spiritual mentoring. You do not need to be fit, flexible or an experienced practitioner to book a session, just committed to practice regularly. The suggested donation is £25-30, however this is simply a guide - please pay what you feel is appropriate and what you can afford. The sessions will take place in my home practice space just outside Hennock, near Bovey Tracey. Donation-based sessions are not available at other locations and are only available when she has free time available so there may be some wait.
Please contact Kate if you are interested in booking a donation-based session
More guidance and directions will be sent with your booking confirmation.
'As our private yoga teacher over the past 18 months, Kate has helped both of us heal physical issues and encouraged and inspired us to build a daily practice. There have been some amazing results from following her advice and practices- for example David didn't suffer any jetlag on a recent business trip to Hong Kong, which was a first! Kate has a wealth of knowledge about the body and the practices of yoga, coupled with insight into the deeper teachings of yoga, and we would highly recommend her.' David & Vivien
- provide one-to-one (or two-to-one) short-term yoga teaching focusing on a specific issue eg. healing an injury, developing a home practice, learning helpful alignment, maintaining vitality in later life
- provide one-to-one coaching/mentoring using her unique 'whole person' approach for practitioners wanting support on the path of personal transformation. These sessions integrate Kate's professional experience as a coach, trainer and facilitator (www.katetaylorhewett.com) with her own experience of spiritual practice and the journey of awakening. Sessions can cover personal, spiritual and/or professional issues
- teach private groups in collaboration with partners eg. Kate is a co-Director of Brainworks Retreats which run in France, Costa Rica and the UK
- teach private retreats at your home (anywhere in the UK) for individuals, couples or groups which can be a fantastic boost for those who primarily practice at home or who have specific issues or questions they wish to explore.
